Tracking the Uniform Commercial Code-1 filings on financed equipment is the EDA (Equipment Data Associates), a division of Randall-Reilly.
According to the EDA, financed new construction equipment numbers increased by 8 percent from April to May. The top new equipment contractor buyers bought 65 machines for this month. These machines included 35 excavators, 22 dozers, and 21 trenchers.
New financed construction equipment also had sales increases of 12 percent year-to-date compared to the same period last year, 2012.
For used financed construction equipment sales declined by 9 percent between April and May. Compared to the first five months of 2012, used equipment year-to-date sales increased by 4 percent.
