The Heavy Equipment Resale Market showed an increase in the average asking prices for the top five equipment types during the first quarter of 2013 according to Equipment Watch. Within these listed equipment types, Caterpillar showed the largest share of any manufacturer with 36% of the market. The Southeast U.S. region proved to have the most activity in United States. Crawler mounted hydraulic excavators claimed the largest among the other types of equipment in the marketplace.

For Skid Steer Loaders, Bobcat maintained dominance overall with the Great Lakes region claimed the largest gain in the market share. Case, although averaging the lowest price, showed significant gains during the first quarter of 2013 with the Great Lakes and Plains regions representing more than 50% of the resale market for 4WD Articulated Wheel Loaders. Komatsu Crawler Mounted Hydraulic Excavators maintained a strong presence in the market that ended with a strong rebound in average asking prices in March with the Southeast U.S. region showing dominance for market share.
