General Motors has recalled another 2.7 million vehicles, adding to the flood of safety repairs it is making in the wake of its slow action to address an ignition switch flaw that has been linked to 13 deaths.
We’re all for safety, but at some point there comes a time when things just need to be done right “the first time.”
The latest action covers eight different models and brings the number of vehicles recalled this year by the nation’s largest automaker to more than 11.1 million in the United States and 12.8 million worldwide.
That put GM on course to break its 2004 domestic recall record of 11.8 million vehicles.
That’s not a good record to break.
So why are we talking about GM and their recalls?
Well, we wanted to take the time to point out that here at EHE, we believe in getting it right “the first time,” especially when it comes to buying and or selling used heavy equipment.
When you “don’t” get it right the first time, money and a ton of time is lost…..and time is one of the only things you can’t get back.
But instead of taking the blame check out what GM said about its latest recall: The increasing number of recalls does not mean that the company’s vehicles are more problematic. What it does mean, GM said, is that the company is being more “responsive to problems” following the ignition switch debacle.
Well, rest assured that with EHE, if we ever do make a mistake, we will own up to it.
In addition, we’ve put in measures to ensure that every interaction customers have with us is done right, so we don’t have to ask for a do-over.
So when it comes to getting a great deal on used heavy equipment, EHE is the most competitive wholesaler of used heavy construction equipment, meaning we offer “true” wholesale pricing on all of our heavy equipment.
In addition, because registration is not required for construction or agricultural equipment, theft is a serious problem. We are one of the only resellers that has created a partnership with law enforcement to provide our customers with the added value of cross referencing each piece of equipment we buy against the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database.
95% of our business is repeat and referrals and that is because we keep the customer FIRST!
