Thousands are expected to attend Smopyc 2014, the 16th International Show of Public Works, Construction and Mining Machinery this week at the Zaragoza Exhibition Centre in Spain, but a Texas-based wholesaler of used heavy construction or farm equipment, say they have the “goods” or deals for both buyers and sellers.
For Spain, the SMOPYC functions as the main trade fair for construction equipment companies.
The event is held every three years. More than 1,200 exhibitors and 89,000 visitors are expected to be on the trade fair premises.
“This is a great showcase, and definitely good for your eyes to see, but if you’re looking for buy and or sell used heavy equipment and receive an awesome deal then we have the answer,” said Milissa Wise, director of operations for Expert Heavy Equipment, the parent company of EHE Auctions.
In fact, the prognoses for the building industry in Spain are not positive, an indication of a need for the best possible deal possible for both buyers and sellers.
According to Germany Trade and Invest, investments sank by annually 9 percent for the last few years.
In addition, sales of Spanish construction machineries dropped by 10 percent, according to the Committee for European Construction Equipment, CECE.
“Whatever the case is, the bottom line is both buyers and sellers need a good deal, especially in the current environment, and we can provide that,” Wise stressed. “We can help attendees of the SMOPYC as well as exhibitors.”
Exhibitors come from different areas, such as distribution companies, importers, representatives and construction companies and different countries like Lebanon, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Panama, Uruguay, Guatemala, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Algeria, Brazil, Ecuador, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Russian Federation, Belarus, Turkey and Iran.
Wise pointed out that one of the many great things about EHE is that it offers a free pricing resource that provides third party market data validating the fair market value on equipment based on general details of the machine.
According to Wise, currently there is not a standardized resource for assessing the value of heavy construction or farm equipment, which means that most individual owners and companies become dependent on the appraiser, dealership or broker to provide them with a value, which she says, is usually subjective.
Wise stressed that its market pricing service helps to provide the seller and or buyer negotiating power and saves time in doing the research
“We are bringing transparency to the marketplace that has not existed before. This tool helps sellers understand the value of their equipment so that they can set a realistic sale price.”
